DIY Christmas Simmer Pot for a Natural Christmas Scent

If you love the smell of Christmas around your home, then we want to share our favorite way to bring that scent into your home without candles. Say hello to the Christmas simmer pot!

If you're unfamiliar with a simmer pot, it is a glass heat resistant pot that you use to boil fruits, veggies, spices, and herbs to bring fresh smelling aromas into your space. What I love about a simmer pot is that you can reuse it throughout the holidays and mix up the smell by adding different fruits and spices.

What You Will Need:

• Simmer pot
• Fresh ingredients
• Cutting board
• Knife

Ingredients

• Cup of fresh cranberries
• 1 Sliced orange - fresh or dried slices
• 1 Sliced apple - fresh or dried slices
• 3 Cinnamon sticks
• Pinch of cloves
• 2 Sprigs of rosemary
• Water
• Optional: 2-3 star anise

How to Make a Christmas Simmer Pot

1. Fill simmer pot with fresh ingredients
2. Add water so it's about 3/4 filled
3. Bring to a simmer on low heat
4. Let it simmer for a few hours, adding water as needed

Can You Reuse the Simmer Pot? How Long Does a Christmas Simmer Pot Last?

Yes, you can reuse the Christmas simmer pot for a couple days. Do keep in mind since these are fresh ingredients, you will only be able to use it for a couple of days.
